Dr. Kate Conte
Dr. Conte is a licensed psychologist (PSY28676) with extensive experience in psychological assessment and clinical work with children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Conte previously worked as a psychologist in the Department of Child and Family Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente in Richmond, CA and completed her postdoctoral residency there, as well. She was the licensed supervisor for the hospital’s child and adolescent psychological assessment program, providing training and supervision in assessment for a cohort of graduate students. Before her work at Kaiser, Dr. Conte worked within schools, juvenile hall and community-based health centers providing individual and group therapy, assessment and diagnostic services. She completed her predoctoral internship at Napa State Hospital, conducting forensic psychological evaluations, gaining extensive knowledge in severe mental illness, psychotic process disorders and neuropsychological differences. Dr. Conte is passionate about staying abreast of current research in the field and appreciating the uniqueness of each child. She is a mother to three young children and loves working with children and teens of all ages.
Dr. Carrie Wai
Dr. Wai is a licensed psychologist (PSY28920) who has extensive experience in psychological assessment and clinical work with children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Wai is currently the Neurodevelopmental Specialist in the psychiatry department at Kaiser Permanente in Richmond, CA. She also runs their psychological assessment program and provides training and supervision for a cohort of advanced-level graduate students and post-doctoral residents on the Child and Family Psychiatry team. Dr. Wai completed her pre-doctoral internship at Southeast Psych, a large multi-disciplinary private practice, where she primarily focused on developing her skills in neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments. She completed her residency at Kaiser Richmond and worked for several years at the Kaiser Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) clinic in the Sacramento area. Dr. Wai has experience providing individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psychological testing and consultation in community-based mental health programs, the public school system, and hospital settings. Dr. Wai loves working with children and teens to help them better understand themselves, and she enjoys helping families better understand their child’s individual strengths and how to build upon those strengths. Dr. Wai loves animals and has a long-haired dachshund that loves children as much as she does.
