SERVICES WE OFFER

PSYCHOLOGICAL AND NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS

All of our evaluations are tailored to answer your specific questions. Common reasons parents seek a psychological evaluation include:

  • Wondering if your child meets criteria for an official diagnosis (e.g., ADHD, a learning disability, or an anxiety disorder)

  • Obtaining a second opinion separate from individuals working at a student’s school

  • Assessing cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses to inform school placement and academic planning decisions

  • Determining which preventive actions will be most beneficial for your child, psychologically and emotionally

  • Assessing how a medical disorder (e.g. seizure disorder, chemotherapy treatment) may be impacting a child’s neuropsychological presentation

  • Helping determine the source of challenging behaviors and emotions occurring at home or at school

THERAPY FOR PARENTS

We also provide ongoing therapy for parents. We utilize evidence-based strategies to effectively create positive change, while also providing support to process the emotions that come with a difficult phase of parenting. Parenting therapy can include:

  • Processing emotions that occur as a result of parenting a child with large emotions or challenging behaviors

  • Teaching strategies to create positive change within the home

  • Supporting and decreasing feelings of overwhelm

  • Providing new ways of looking at your child's emotions and behaviors

  • Increasing effective communication within the family

  • Supporting parents who come from challenging backgrounds in their own parenting journey
